Hodgdon Pyrodex P is designed to be used in place of Fg Black powder when volumetric measurements are made using a black powder measure. Pyrodex P is primarily used in small bore muzzleloading rifles, cap and ball revolvers, and muzzleloading pistols. It burns more pristine and creates less fouling than black powder, just like all grades of Pyrodex.

Pyrodex® P (Pistol) is designed for use in all handguns and rifles with lower calibers, up to 45. It can also be used as a priming charge for firearms with concerning ignition issues, such as a convoluted or clogged ignition channel. In terms of particle size, Pyrodex® P is comparable to FG black powder. 

All percussion muzzleloading rifle and shotgun calibers are compatible with Pyrodex® RS (Rifle Shotgun). It is the most versatile powder in the Pyrodex® family and has a wide range of applications.
